How To Find the Fierce Tiger and Zhang Xianzhong

The Fierce Tiger is a mandatory boss, and its defeat is required to progress the main story. He serves as the final encounter in the Mount Zhenwu region.

After Liu Wenxiu: After you have defeated the boss Liu Wenxiu, continue your path through the Zhenwu Temple and reach the top.

Pavilion of Knowledge: Locate the Pavilion of Knowledge Shrine inside a nearby cave. This shrine will act as your next major checkpoint.

Cross Rooftop: From this shrine, climb the stairs and proceed across another section of the temple's rooftop.

Drop Down: Drop down into an area where several enemies are arming cannons.

Claw Swipes and Slams	A standard attack where the boss will either swipe at you or slam its claws down on the ground.
Lightning Tail	A charge-up attack where the Fierce Tiger swipes its tail, releasing alightning wave that travels across the ground towards you. You'll needto jump over this or dodge through it.
Lightning Paw	The boss imbues its claw with lightning before slamming it down, causing a large area-of-effect (AoE) lightning shockwave.
Lightning Orb	The Fierce Tiger releases a lightning orb that acts as a homing missile,tracking your movements for a few seconds before exploding.

Lightning Glaive Slam	Zhang Xianzhong drives his Glaive (a polearm weapon) into the ground. Thisinitial slam is a dangerous attack, and it also triggers the release oflightning orbs you must simultaneously avoid.

Beating the Fierce Tiger

Given the sheer number and complexity of the Fierce Tiger's moves, many ofwhich are difficult to parry or dodge with standard rolls, the mosteffective strategy is to rely on a powerful spell: Ethereal Form.

• The Ethereal Form Strategy: The Ethereal Form spell allows you to auto-dodge all attacks for a three-second window.
• The Cycle: To use this spell most effectively, follow a precise cycle:

• Cast Ethereal Form: Use the spell to become invulnerable and auto-dodge for three seconds.
• Attack and Build: Immediately after the spell ends, unleash two quick attacks on the boss. This will trigger the Sword Saint effect, which helps you stack Skyborn Might.
• Recast Ethereal Form: With the Skyborn Might you've generated, cast Ethereal Form again to refresh your invulnerability.
• Repeat: Follow this cycle of casting Ethereal Form, attacking to build SkybornMight, and then recasting the spell. This will allow you to survive thefirst phase while gradually dealing damage.
• Stamina Management: Be mindful of your stamina levels. While Ethereal Form is key, you must manage your stamina properly to ensure you can continue to cast it andland your two attacks.

Beating Zhang Xianzhong

The second phase is a significant escalation in difficulty, with ZhangXianzhong's attacks being faster and deadlier. The same spell-basedstrategy is still your best bet, but it requires even more precision.

• Ethereal Form is Still Essential: Ethereal Form is still your primary tool for survival. You will likelyneed to cast it almost immediately after its effect ends, as ZhangXianzhong is far more relentless and leaves very little time forrecovery.
• Utilize Poise Break: If you have successfully evaded most of the attacks during both phases, you will be able to build up the boss's poise break. When the boss's poise is broken, it will be temporarily stunned, creating a critical opening.
• Execute Obliterate: When the boss is stunned, execute your Obliterate attack to deal a significant chunk of damage and shorten the length of this dangerous phase.
• Conserve Stamina: The biggest challenge in this phase is stamina management. To ensure you can chain together Ethereal Form casts, you must minimize sprinting and other stamina-draining actions. Every point of stamina is a potential lifeline.
