Disable Windows Firewall


One of the most common causes of the War Thunder Internal Server Error is the Windows Firewall. This powerful security feature can sometimes interfere with the game's connection to the server, causing the error to occur. To fix this problem, you'll need to disable the Windows Firewall.
  • Step 1: Access the Control Panel from the Start menu: The first step is to access the Control Panel. You can do this by clicking on the Start menu and searching for "Control Panel". Once you've found it, click on it to open it.
  • Step 2: Navigate to the Windows Defender Firewall settings: In the Control Panel, you'll see a list of options. Look for "Windows Defender Firewall" and click on it. This will take you to the Firewall settings.
  • Step 3: Disable the Firewall for both Private & Public Network Settings: In the Windows Defender Firewall settings, you'll see two options: "Public Network Settings" and "Private Network Settings". You'll need to disable the Firewall for both of these settings. To do this, click on each option and select "Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off". From here, you can turn off the Firewall for both Private & Public Network Settings.

Restart War Thunder



If disabling the Firewall did not fix the error, you can try restarting War Thunder. Sometimes, the game may encounter a temporary glitch that causes the Internal Server Error. Here's what you can do:

  • 1. Close War Thunder and any other programs running in the background.
  • 2. Wait for a few seconds and relaunch War Thunder.
  • 3. Try logging in to your account or joining a battle again.

If the error persists after trying the first two methods, you may need to contact Gaijin Customer Support. The developers' team is active and helpful, and they can provide you with specific instructions to fix the error. Here's how to contact them:
