Today, we’re excited to unveil the brand-new Xbox MVP website. Visit
mvp.xbox.com to learn more about the amazing work Xbox MVPs are doing
within the community, how you can collaborate with them and how to
nominate a gamer deserving of the Xbox MVP Award.
>>I knew about the MVP program
before getting nominated,
but I never really thought of
myself as somebody who
could be part of that community.
>>When I got the email, at first
I thought it was spam.
>>I thought it was like a spam message at
first, and I was like what is this? What?
What's going on here? And it
wasn't until a couple of folks
from Zune wrote to me and said
"Hey, you may be getting this message
from this program take it seriously."
That I was like oh, wow, this is
actually this is pretty cool.
You know, because they're
rewarding me for something I was
going to be doing anyway.
>>I did not know about the program until
shortly before I was nominated
I was actually nominated by Marques.
>>I actually have no idea who nominated me
to be in the MVP program.
I have some ideas, nobody would
actually tell me
when I confronted them,
they would just smile.
>>My favorite part of the program
is without a doubt the people.
But also just what we get to
do as a group.
>>That group is full of some of
the most creative, passionate,
caring individuals that I've
met in my life.
>>Being an MVP to me is truly
being the lighthouse.
There's an old phrase that
goes: a lighthouse never
searches for ships that are in trouble,
it just stands there shining.
>>It means helping the
community. It means helping
people get the most out of this
investment that they made.
>>It's not about perks, it's
not about recognition.
it's about doing your best for
>>So the Xbox community is one of my
favorite communities on the internet.
I love Xbox fans, I think they're
fantastic. I am one, right?
It's something that I definitely closely
relate to. It's diverse, it's one of the
most diverse communities that
exists. Gaming is the great equalizer.
>>You'll find that there are many,
many things that kind of bring
people with differences together.
>> Everybody has a story, everybody
has a history, everybody has
something that makes them
them. But at the same time
we can all come together and share
that love of gaming and love of Xbox.
>>I love games. I love
talking about games.
I love talking with other
people about games.
I love the ability to not just passively
engage in something but actively.
To really help. At the end
of the day that's
that's the simplest way I can put it,
is that just to be helpful.
>>One of the great things about MVPs
is that we're very approachable.
>>Most of us are just kind of
>>Reach out and be available. Talk
to people. Be the person
that you know you want to see online,
and actually exude those qualities.
>>If you're feeling like you're
struggling, I would reach out
to others in the community. We're
all welcome to help out.
And just follow your passion,
do what makes you happy.
>>People will notice, and
whether or not they notice
you're doing good work and
that's what really matters.
It's not about being recognized,
it's about doing the right thing.
>>Just go out and make sure
that what you're doing is
making the community
around you better,
and then everything else
just falls into place.
>>You never know what is
going to happen. Because I
