Harvesting meat in Soulmask is a bit different from other survival games. The guide does not include many of the essential tips of the game for beginners, and one of them is collecting meat. While surviving may seem like a trivial task in the open world, without a proper guide you will not be able to have meat in your inventory.

This is a new open-world survival game that has just been released in early access. While the game has a lot of room for improvement, it does a lot of things right. The scenery and attention to detail are just a few of the many interesting features of the game, but sometimes they forget to explain things to the player, so many people spend hours and even hours without knowing the method to get meat.

How to get meat in Soulmask?

The only source of meat is animals. But unlike other games, you can't just kill them and collect meat. Many players complained on social media that during the first few hours of the game they would spend hours killing animals and then looting their carcasses to harvest meat.

Sadly, every time they return, they are discouraged because there is no more meat to harvest. This is because the game does not say that you have to use a butcher knife on dead animals to obtain the meat. By using a knife on an animal, you can harvest both its meat and its skin.

For some reason, this important mechanic is not currently shown in the game manual. No matter what weapon you use to kill an animal, the only way to harvest its meat and skin is with a butcher knife. This knife can be crafted; the drawing for the knife can be found in the tools menu.

At the beginning of the game, you can craft a simple stone carving knife. To make this tool, you will need three stones and a twig. You can then unlock the steel variant and even the enchanted variant. The upgraded butcher knife offers no special benefits or capabilities aside from increased durability.

Now that you know how to get meat in Soulmask, you can go hunting and stock up as you progress.
