However, the community has discovered a quick fix that can improve the game's playability if you use an ultrawide monitor. Although it is not the ideal option, it will at least allow you to enjoy on a 21:9 or 32:9 screen for the moment.
How to Fix Soulmask Ultrawide Monitors?
Soulmask doesn't have an FOV slider, but you can adjust some of the game files so that the camera doesn't shake on ultrawide monitors. Search for "Run" in Windows. Then, type "%localappdata%" and click OK. From there, navigate to "AppDataLocalWSSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor" and open the Engine.ini file in a text editor such as Notepad. Add "[/script/engine.localplayer]" at the bottom of the file and then type. In the next row, type "ConstraintAspectRatioAxis=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV". This will change the FOV to better fit the aspect ratio of your monitor while playing Soulmask.
Although it is not an ideal solution and is still not as good as native support, it is superior at this time. In a post on the Steam community forum, the Soulmask developers noted that they haven't done much research into the field of view issue on ultrawide displays, but are looking to fix the issue as soon as possible during the early access phase. Hopefully a patch will be released sooner rather than later. Soulmask also has other major issues, such as current crashes, so the developers have a lot to do.
In the meantime, if you don't have a very wide camera, you can try running Soulmask in windowed mode. Soulmask has a lot going for it, and at the moment it's good enough to justify playing it in windowed mode, especially if you're playing with friends.
