In the mission "The Root of the Problem", you are tasked with collecting eight Mandrake Roots to help a friend in need. This guide will provide you with all the information you need to complete this mission efficiently and reap the rewards.
To begin "The Root of the Problem", you must first complete the main mission "A Golden Opportunity" in Fairy Village. Once done, head to Fairy Village Leyline Fount and speak to Silky, who will give you the quest. She will explain that she needs the Mandrake Roots to create a medicine to save her friend's life.
How to get Mandrake Roots in Shin Megami Tensei V?
Mandrake Roots can be found in two places:
Near the area where you accept the quest: North of Fairy Village, you'll find a group of Mandrake enemies. These enemies are low-level and weak to fire, so they shouldn't be too difficult to defeat.
Minato Ward: If you're having a hard time finding enough Mandrake in Fairy Village, you can fast travel to Minato Ward. Here, you'll find more Mandrake enemies to defeat.
Defeating Mandrake and Narcissus
In addition to Mandrake enemies, you'll also encounter Narcissus enemies while collecting Mandrake Roots. Narcissus is a slightly stronger demon than Mandrake, but is still weak to fire. Be careful of his Strength magic, as it can deal a lot of damage if you're not prepared.
Battle Tips
- Exploit Weaknesses: Both Mandrake and Narcissus are weak to fire. Use fire attacks to defeat them quickly.
- Heal Your Demons: Don't forget to heal your Demons after each battle, as the enemies can be powerful.
- Use Negotiation: If you run into difficulties, you can use the Negotiation skill to avoid fighting Mandrake or Narcissus altogether.
- Recruit Mandrake: If you're looking for a quick and easy way to collect Mandrake Roots, you can use the Negotiation skill to recruit them.
Once you've collected all eight Mandrake Roots, return to Silky in Fairy Village. She'll thank you for your help and reward you with a Fairy Talisman and 6000 EXP.
