As you navigate the world of Schedule 1, you might notice scattered trash accumulating both indoors and outdoors. While collecting and disposing of this trash at designated collectors offers a small monetary reward, the sheer volume of these objects can impact your PC's performance, potentially leading to FPS drops and stuttering.

Fortunately, Schedule 1 offers a console command to quickly remove all nearby trash, which can be a temporary solution to improve performance. Additionally, there are other graphical and system settings you can adjust to enhance your gaming experience. This guide will walk you through using the "Cleartrash" console command and other optimization tips.

Fix Schedule 1 Stuttering Issues

Use the Clear Trash Console Command in Schedule 1:

If you're experiencing performance issues like FPS drops or stuttering, especially in areas with a lot of visible trash, using the "Cleartrash" console command can provide a temporary boost. Here's how to enable the console and use the command:

  • Enable the Console:

    • Launch Schedule 1.
    • Enter the game's settings menu.
    • Navigate to the Game tab within the settings.
    • Under the "Game" tab, find the Console option and enable it.
  • Open the Console: Once the console is enabled, press the Tilde key (~) on your keyboard. This key is usually located below the Esc key and to the left of the number 1 key.

  • Enter the Command: In the console window that appears, type the following command exactly:

    Cleartrash
  • Execute the Command: After typing the command, press the Enter key. This will immediately remove all the trash in the immediate vicinity of your player character.

  • Important Note: The trash will eventually respawn in the game world. Therefore, you will need to repeat this process whenever you start experiencing FPS drops or stuttering issues again. This is a temporary fix to improve performance on demand.

    Tweak the Graphics Settings:

Adjusting your in-game graphics settings can also significantly impact performance. Here are a couple of specific settings to consider tweaking first:

    • SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion): This setting adds depth and shading to objects but can be performance-intensive. Try disabling SSAO to see if it improves your FPS.
    • Godrays: These visual effects simulate light shafts and can also impact performance. Consider disabling Godrays or lowering their quality.

Experiment with these and other graphical options (like texture quality, shadow quality, and draw distance) to find a balance between visual fidelity and smooth performance on your system. Start by disabling the most demanding settings and gradually re-enable them until you find a comfortable level of performance.

Run the Game on the Dedicated GPU:

If your computer has both an integrated GPU (iGPU) and a dedicated GPU (dGPU) (often an NVIDIA or AMD card), there's a possibility that Windows might be mistakenly running Schedule 1 on the weaker iGPU. This can lead to significant performance issues. Ensure the game is using your dedicated GPU:

    • Windows Graphics Settings:

    • Open Windows Settings (Windows key + I).
    • Go to System and then Display.
    • Scroll down and click on Graphics settings.
    • Click the Browse button and locate the Schedule 1 game executable (.exe file). Add it to the list.
    • Click on the Schedule 1 entry in the list and then click Options.
    • Choose "High performance" to force Windows to use your dedicated GPU for the game.
    • Click Save.
    • NVIDIA Control Panel:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
    • Go to Manage 3D settings.
    • Select the Program Settings tab.
    • Click Add and find the Schedule 1 game executable.
    • Under "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program," choose your high-performance NVIDIA processor.
    • Click Apply.
    • AMD Radeon Settings:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select AMD Radeon Settings.
    • Go to the System tab and then Switchable Graphics.
    • Find Schedule 1 in the list of applications. If it's not there, you can add it.
    • Set the "Graphics Setting" for Schedule 1 to "High Performance".
    • Click Apply.

Ensuring the game runs on your dedicated GPU is crucial for optimal performance.

    Disable Overlays:

In-game overlays from applications like Steam and Discord can sometimes interfere with game performance, causing FPS drops and stuttering. Try disabling these overlays:

    • Steam Overlay:

    • Open Steam.
    • Go to your Library.
    • Right-click on Schedule 1 and select Properties.
    • Under the General tab, uncheck the box next to "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".
    • Discord Overlay:

    • Open Discord.
    • Click on the User Settings icon (the gear icon near your username).
    • Navigate to the Game Overlay tab.
    • Toggle off "Enable in-game overlay".

By implementing these tips, including using the "Cleartrash" console command, adjusting graphics settings, ensuring the game uses your dedicated GPU, and disabling unnecessary overlays, you should be able to improve the performance of Schedule 1 on your PC and enjoy a smoother gaming experience.
