If you're wondering where to find rare funguss in Psychonauts 2, the first thing you should do is head to a cave is hidden behind the big waterfall in the Questionable Area, which is marked with an "A" on the map > go through the Fierro Funicular to get to the cave. The Fierro Funicular is marked with a "B" on the map, it is located after the Forgotten Forest on the left side of the Questionable Area.When you reach the Funicular you will realize that the ride is not working and you will have to use Psi-Power Telekinesis to insert three gears into the ride's motor.
The first one is next to the device, the second one is leaning against a rock to the right of the Funicular and the last one is on the ground next to the slope of the ride.
When the Funicular is repaired, you will have to climb on the roof of one of the moving cars to reach the top > then turn right and continue forward to turn right again and find a wooden path around the mountain > go along this path until you reach an obstacle road that will lead you to the protagonist of the game, who is on a circular platform, near Far-Fetched Falls.
Already on the platform, you will have to get close enough to the waterfall and use Raz's Time Bubble ability on a log as you go up > then you will have to jump onto the log and ride it until you can reach the cave behind Far-Fetched Falls, which you will have to enter > inside the cave you will find the rare mushroom to look for to complete the quest. The mushroom will be on an elevated platform.
