Metacritic is a portal that adds media product reviews, be it movies, TV shows, music albums and videogames. For each product, the scores of each revision are averaged. And recently it was revealed which were the best rated games of 2018.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2, the western action and adventure game developed by Rockstar Games, focuses on an epic story of the relentless life of the United States. The end of the era of the Wild West begins when legislators persecute the last gangs outside the law, and those who do not submit to oppression are killed. In addition the world of the game allows us to live a new experience in online multiplayer. Said game was released on October 26, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, it is the third entry in the Red Dead series, a prequel to the 2010 Red Dead Redemption game.

2. God of War

3. Celeste

Celeste took third place with 94 points, moving to a retro-style platform adventure inspired by the classics of the 16-bit era, proposing to climb a giant mountain. The video game consists of more than 250 levels with diverse settings such as cliffs, ancient ruins, abandoned cities, even a tourist complex ravaged by ghosts. The video game was released on January 25, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh operating systems and Linux platforms.

4. Undertale

Taking the fourth place with 93 points we have a role-playing video game created by the developer Toby Fox. Where the players control a child who has fallen in the subway, a large and isolated region below the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. Undertale belongs to that rare breed of titles inspired by Earthbound, in which the structure and dialogues of a common RPG are used to tell a different story with unconventional forms of interaction and storytelling. The video game was released on September 25, 2015 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh operating systems, Linux and PlayStation Vita.

5. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the crossed fighting game of 2018 took fifth place but not less important with 92 points. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd for Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth installment of the Super Smash Bros. series, succeeding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
