Mortal Kombat 11 has been accumulating excellent reviews even before being released, GameSpot critic Edmond Tran described the video game as:

"MK11 is not just a sequel to the fans of the series and devotees of Netherrealm, it is a gateway to the world of fighting games for anyone who has a passing interest in seeing ruthless warriors hit each other."

"Simplified mechanics keep the act of fighting furiously exciting no matter what your skill level is, and the full tutorials encourage you to delve into the heart of the matter. There is a diverse list of interesting characters and playing styles, and the way History is an entertaining one. "

"The unsatisfactory approaches to single-player content dynamics and progression may seem as if they have been pushed back (at least at this early stage), but Mortal Kombat 11 hits where it matters."
