Epic Games Store would end exclusive offers if Steam changes the revenue distribution for developers.

Tim Sweeney, CEO and founder of Epic Games, recently said that the Epic Games Store would stop making exclusivity deals as long as Steam gave publishers and developers a revenue share of at least 88%.

Sweeney gave the statements in a thread of Twitter where they talked about the cut and revenues of stores.

The CEO of Epic Games said that the company's 12% cut in the game's profits was a significant improvement on the 30% that Valve obtained from sales at the Steam Store and also said that the cutbacks were:

"the number 1 problem for PC developers, publishers and all those who trust these companies for their livelihood."

"We are determined to solve it and this is the only approach that will make a major change," he explained about the company's tactics at the store. "






"Epic would organize a recall of the exclusives (respecting the commitments of our partners) and consider the possibility of putting our own games on Steam." He told a user who asked if Epic Games would stop making exclusivity agreements if Valve reduced its own cut of income to 12%.

He also said that if Steam adopted the proposal "it would be a glorious moment in the history of PC gaming, and would have a great impact on other platforms for future generations."

For now there have been many exclusive Epic has released, including Metro Exodus and Borderlands 3, something that keeps PC users upset.
