In order to use it, you will have to hold down the space key to gain altitude and then hold down the forward key that will allow you to enter navigation mode and leave the orbit of the current planet.

If you use the Tab key you can undo the mouse lock. Already in orbit, you will have to find the planet you want to go to and use the shift key to accelerate in its direction.

To find out how long it will take you to reach a specific planet, you can use the star map, which you can access by pressing the V key and then hovering over the planet. The arrival time may vary depending on the orbit of the planet.

You will also need to produce a Space Warper to jump between systems, since each jump will take a Space Warper from you.
