The first thing you have to know to be able to use the skills are the controls, since the same specific ones depending on the platform you are on, be it on PC or console and are the following:

If you are on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, the controls are: up, down, left or right on the D-pad.

Whereas if you are on a PC the controls are: one, two, three or four keys on your keyboard.

You can have up to four squadmates during missions at most, although most of the time you can only use two or three.
