It has been announced that season 2 of Apex Legends is coming. Respawn, mentioned that he will present more relevant details during the EA Play event that will be held before the next E3 in June. The developer of the game revealed that he is aware of the respective shortcomings of the season 1 pass, since he has followed the criticism of the fans, so he assured that season 2 of Apex Legends will come loaded with new content, including the first changes on the map and the introduction of a new Legend (Legend is the reference term for the characters).

Respawn shared a note on an EA blog where he said "We have seen all the comments in season 1 and we hope to show you the improvements we are making." "For Season 2 you can expect a battle pass with more meaningful content, the introduction of a new legend, the debut of a new weapon ... and you did not expect Kings Canyon to stay the same forever, right?"

In the published roadmap, Respawn also made it clear that Apex Legends Season 2 will arrive by June of this 2019 (one month, approximately), so the update is closer than previously thought.

According to the comments made by the developer of Apex Legends on the EA blog, the roadmap for season 2 that he made public also suggested that new characters, objects and weapons are scheduled in addition to the battle pass of each season. However, Respawn has not made many comments referring to map changes, unlike its main competition: Fortnite, which has modified its map on several occasions.

Respawn also commented that even though his new commitment to study is "to provide more visibility in the future," it is not indicative that they are going to share everything they are working on, they are just trying to be more transparent and put "less surprises". That is to say that they will still leave some secrets for the launch.

Given the new commitment he made public, the Apex Legends developer explained how the current study slate is and the system of priorities they are using for their projects. This states that, currently, Respawn is divided into two teams, one dedicated to Apex Legends and the other to Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Also, to avoid many complications, the studio is delaying future plans with the Titanfall games, indicating the probable fact that they do not plan to launch several games this year.

Some will think that if Fornite can have so many updates during the same season, then Apex Legends could also do so. However, there is a background in all this related to some public complaints that Fortnite has been facing. A recently published report says that Fortnite offers weekly updates to high labor costs, so it has been overreaching its workers by making them work up to 100 hours a week, developing a job crisis due to these large workloads. Following this report and without mentioning Fortnite directly, Vince Zampella, the CEO of Respawn, said that Apex Legends will continue with seasonal updates, thus making a reference to preserve the quality of life of the team.

For its part, EA is not going to hold a traditional press conference this year, as usual. Instead, you will hold your EA Play event.
