How To Get Vinh's Phone Passcode in Life Is Strange Double Exposure
Vinh operates out of the administration building of the Living World. Once reaching him, he'll be incapacitated to the point of being unable to use his phone. His excuse of being too drunk to remember is highly dubious. He'll let you know that the year of death of a famous "magician scientist" is his password, though.
To reach the Dead World, go to a nearby area that will allow you to change timelines. There is Vinh getting drunk on the couch in his office, at noon. I suppose everyone's grieving process is different.
Am I Supposed to Take Advantage of Vinh?
Eventually he gives you two options of how to learn the pass code if you just sit down and have a drink with him. He owes you a favor if you returned his parcel back in the first chapter of the game. If you simply just ask him for his passcode, that will get you the information you need to pay it in.
If you want to keep that favor for maybe using later on in the game or if you just forgot to return his box back in episode one then Vinh will tell you the name of that magician-scientist: Jack Parsons. However, he does get suspicious if you ask him what year Parsons died so you are going to have to research the rest yourself.
Looking for Jack Parsons' Death Location
Fortunately, a library is in view and you can browse the shelves for whatever information might come in handy. On the left wall of the room, against the opposite side of the door nearest Vinh's office-between the fireplace and the portrait, in fact-lies a book on the History of the Occult. You can tell, from open-ing the book to its first page, that Jack Parsons died in 1952.
Returning to the Living World with that knowledge in hand, you'll find Vinh has left his office. His phone, fortunately, is it's on the table, ready to be picked up. You can either unlock it or inspect it when you select the "Snoop" option. Achieve your goal by selecting to unlock it! You are now free to discover Vinh's hidden truth.
