Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD: How to beat Skulltula - Ultimate Guide

This is a type of spider that seeks to impede Link's progress in Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD, and your task will be to finish them off in order to continue. You will encounter them during the first dungeon, so you are in time to find out how to beat Skulltula.
The first thing you need to know about how to defeat Skulltula is that you can eliminate them using hits against their weak points, these points are the spots located at the bottom of the spiders, which have a purple glow, but it will not be so easy to access their weak points, since you will have to use some sword techniques.
In the case of the ones hanging from the ceiling, you will need to use a horizontal slash to make the Skulltula spin and a thrust to stab its weak point. To do the thrust attack you will need to press the right stick lever if using button controls and stab with the right Joy-Con forward when using motion controls. In case you use motion controls, but can't perform thrust attacks this way you can use a Skyward Strike against the spider's weak point as an alternative. To do this you will need to hold the right Joy-Con vertically to raise Link's sword above his head and move it forward to launch a projectile once the Skyward Strike has charged.
You could also temporarily switch to button controls and use push attacks in these sections.
You may find some spiders crawling on the ground in Skyview Temple, but to finish these off you'll need to slash upwards to flip one of the Skulltula onto your back and then perform a Fatal Strike to destroy them. To do this you will have to block an enemy that is on its back, you will have to move towards it until the "Fatal Strike" appears at the bottom of the screen > press up, down, up on the right analog joystick or shake both Joy-Cons.
