Before doing anything, it will be necessary to learn the technologies needed to harvest these resources, as some will require specific technology trees to be created by certain buildings that can use them.

One of the first strategic resources you should look for are horses and to add them to your empire, you will need to delve into the Domestication research, this will allow you to build a stable for any Horse stall within a city's territory.
