How to play Grounded 2 with friends

Playing survival games like Grounded 2 with friends can make the experience more fun and engaging. The game's narrative, featuring characters like Hoops, Willow, Max, and Pete, is designed for a co-op experience. This guide will walk you through the process of creating and joining a multiplayer server, as well as enabling crossplay to play with friends on different platforms.

How to Create a Multiplayer Server in Grounded 2

Follow these steps to set up a multiplayer game for you and your friends.

From the game's main menu, select Multiplayer.

Choose Host Online Game.

Decide if you want to use an existing save by selecting Continue or start a new playthrough with New Game.

You can set an optional password to prevent unwanted players from joining your game.

Choose your desired world type and game mode.

Once you've set up the lobby, you can add your friends on either Steam or Xbox, depending on your platforms.

Invite your friends to your lobby through the respective application.

Once your friends have accepted the invitation and chosen their characters, you, as the host, can start the game and name the world.

How to Join a Multiplayer Server in Grounded 2

If a friend is hosting the game, you have two options for joining their server.

Join via the Game List: Go to Multiplayer > Join Online Game. You can then search for your friend's game in the list.

Join via Invitation: If your friend's game does not appear in the list (this can happen with new saves), they will need to send you an invitation through eitherSteam or Xbox.

• On PC: You can accept the invitation through the Steam message box or by pressing Windows + G to open the Xbox Game Bar.
• On Xbox: Navigate to your notifications menu to accept the invitation.

How to Enable Crossplay in Grounded 2

To play with friends on different platforms (e.g., PC players with Xbox players), you must enable crossplay.

From the main menu, press F1 on PC or the Enable Crossplay button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

You will be prompted to log in to your Microsoft account.

After logging in, you will have access to crossplay features, allowing you to invite and join friends regardless of their platform.

Note: Some players have reported issues with multiplayer servers,particularly with crossplay, not appearing in the games list. Theseissues are currently being investigated by the community and thedevelopers. We will update this guide with any new information orsolutions as they become available.
