In
Grounded 2, acorns are a vital early-game resource for building essential workstations and crafting valuable gear. Initially, they can be a bit challenging to find, but once you know where to look and what to do, you can farm them efficiently.
Where to find Acorns in Grounded 2
Acorns are found near
oak trees. These large, distinct trees have
orange and brown leaves, which makes them easy to differentiate from the more common pine trees in the game's world.
- Early-Game Location: One of the most accessible early-game locations for acorns is an oak tree situated directly south of the Snackbar in the Entrance area.
- Northern Regions: You can also find them scattered throughout the game's northern regions.
As you get close to an oak tree, you will spot large acorns on the ground. To break them, you will need to unlock and use the
Omni-Tool. Breaking an acorn will reward you with three different items: an
acorn top,
acorn shells, and
acorn bits.
How to use Acorn tops and shells
Acorn tops and shells are extremely versatile and are a crucialcomponent for building a wide range of early- to mid-game structures, gear, and workstations. They are essential for both base-building andcrafting.
- Acorn Gear: They are used to craft Acorn armor, including the Acorn Mask, Acorn Plate, and Acorn Greaves. They are also used for the Sturdy Shell trinket.
- Base-Building and Workstations: You'll need them for a variety of structures, such as:
- Acorn fences, railings, and stairs
- Smoothie Station
- Garden Patch
- Spinning Wheel
- Sap Catcher
- Ladder
- Acorn Turret
- Target and Standing Target
- Hatchery
- Simple Bed and Bunk Bed
- Storage Chest
- Water Container
- All wall mounts
- Resource Analyzer: Acorn tops and shells can be placed in the Resource Analyzer to unlock new crafting recipes and earn science points.
How to use Acorn bits
Unlike their counterparts, acorn bits have a much more limited use. They areprimarily a required ingredient for cooking specific food recipes.
- Cooking: You will need acorn bits for recipes such as:
- Boost Juice
- Gnatchos
- Mac N Bees
If you enjoy cooking and want a full inventory of useful dishes, youshould keep a supply of acorn bits on hand. However, for most players, the main priority will be farming for acorn tops and shells due to their wide array of uses for base construction and character progression.
