The game is perfect for large groups of people, as it can accommodate up to 16 players. The ideal number of players is between 5-8, but it can be played with more or fewer people. Here are some suggested role settings for the game, depending on the size of the group.

For 5-8 players, the suggested roles are Geese (Gravy, Medium, Vigilante, Birdwatcher, Politician, Locksmith, Adventurer, Engineer, Street Urchin, Tracker), Ducks (Cannibal, Spy, Snitch, Party) and Neutrals (Dodo). The Geese must complete tasks to win, while the Ducks must kill the other players in order to win. The Neutrals can help either side, depending on who offers them the best deal.

For 9-12 players, Geese (Canadian, Sheriff, Detective, Mortician, Celebrity, Avenger, Esper and Astral) and Ducks (Hitman/Bodyguard, Silencer, Assassin, Professional, Morphling, Identity Thief, Undertaker, Invisibility, Serial Killer and Warlock) are suggested. The Geese must still complete tasks to win, while the Ducks must either kill the other players or act suspicious in order to win. The Neutrals (Vulture, Pigeon, Falcon, Pelican) can help either side, depending on who offers them the best deal.

If you have 13-16 players, the suggested roles are Geese (Mimic) and Ducks (Lovers, Demolitionist and Ninja). The Geese must still complete tasks to win, while the Ducks must either kill the other players or act suspicious in order to win. The Neutrals (Dueling Dodo) can help either side, depending on who offers them the best deal. The Dueling Dodo neutral is especially interesting, as they will automatically win the game if they are the only person left alive at the end of the game.
