The ads barely lasted a couple of weeks, and succumbed to negative criticism from the fans, so Capcom decided to withdraw them. The controversial publicity that Capcom faced with respect to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition was a series of ads in the game added earlier this month. The advertising appeared through loading screens, emblems in the aspect of the fighters or screens of certain scenarios. All this was to earn a small extra amount of the game currency.

This movement, did not please the users of the title too much. In fact the criticisms had been very harsh, since the rewards for the publicity were insingnificantes and due to them it had increased something more the duration of the times of load between fights. The Eventhubs portal, showed that not only the promotions on the loading screens have disappeared, but also the choice of suits with advertising now generates error messages. This is despite the fact that the option of showing ads in the outfits is still available, when selecting this possibility the users are received with an error message in which it is noticed that there is no advertising available.

On the other hand, it was the same producer of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Yoshinori Ono who showed his gratitude for the feedback received based on the ads stating, "consider how to improve this feature for players in the future". That is why advertising is no longer in Street Fighter V Arcade Edition, but could return at any time in another format. At the moment it seems unfeasible to conclude if the withdrawal of the announcements has been total and definitive, or if on the contrary, it is a temporary measure while in Capcom they seek a more satisfactory alternative for the audience.
