Who is better HDMI or DisplayPort, for 4KHD and game monitors.

And it really is something that people tend to do a lot but at the end of the day it's not worth it, the technologies are superimposed on that are evolving as when HD was opening the way for 4K.

Usually 4K monitors are not exactly what many are looking for, so they choose HDMI, just because the DisplayPort in addition to the HDMI are usually more expensive.

But if you really are the ones who like to think about this decision, about which monitor to choose, be it for work with critical colors, games or business, we have a small guide of advice for you to take into account.

If you are someone who is usually on a business trip, your most profitable option is HDMI because you will surely want to connect your monitor in different locations while traveling. But this of course if your computer has an HDMI receiver port to connect, you can also use USB-Ca-HDMI or micro-HDMI-to-HDMI dongles, but they're easy to lose, and in the middle of a meeting you're not going to wanting to waste time looking for some.

For games, if you already have a game monitor with a DisplayPort receiver and a graphics card, use DisplayPort because it offers most of the ways to set up the adaptive update. HDMI is the cheapest option, but if you have DisplayPort, you will have more options if you plan to upgrade to a new graphics card or add an external GPU in the near future. But if you have an Nvidia graphics card and want to use G-SyncFreeSync will be your best option.

For critical color jobs, we recommend DP 1.4, since it has a greater bandwidth and almost does not require color compression and less in 4K.

But for multimonitor configurations, the safest thing is that you need both, but it will depend on the graphics card, the safest thing is that you only have one of each connection and if you connect DP in chain you could limit the resolution options.
