Aside from taming and taking care of a lot of cute animals, you can now ride around town on a mount in Fields of Mistria. This is part of the early access roadmap, and the first big update to Fields of Mistria lets players take their first ride on a steed. If you want to cruise across Mistria in style and speed, you may be wondering how to get a mount in Fields of Mistria fast. There is a Mistmare, a nice horse-like mount, which can be bought, its appearance customized to ride various animals around town.
It goes without saying that obtaining a mount in Fields of Mistria requires substantial advancement in the main quests and the completion of a new task for Hayden involving a weathervane.
How To Get A Mount in Fields of Mistria?
You will be able to get a mount in Fields of Mistria after completion of the Repair Hayden's Barn main story quest, which unlocks after the completion of the following seven main story missions:
- Repair the Bridge
- Restocking Mistria's Food Reserves
- The Mill Restoration Project: Mill Repair
- Improvement Initiative
- Corner Store Renovation
- Make the Beach Bridge Functional
- Fill Up Mistria's Food Reserves (Part 2 of Restocking Mistria's Food Reserves)
Upgrading Hayden's Barn is no easy feat, as the Repair Hayden's Barn requires 500 stone, 400 wood, 8 Iron Ingots, and 4,000 Tesserae. Nevertheless, performing so grants access to Hayden's Find the Weathervane quest, which grants a mount, in addition to increasing the number of animals you can obtain in Fields of Mistria.
After restoring Hayden's farm, the next morning your character will wake up and a cinematic will be triggered repair the Weathervane. A strong storm knocked Hayden's weathervane off his property and now he is seeking your help to find it. Head to The Narrows by following the directions on the map below, where you will find the weathervane placed next to a horse sculpture that magically appeared during the storm.
To obtain a mount, take the weathervane, and then speak to the horse statue by giving 100 Essence. This summons a beautiful lilac horse known as a Mistmare, and you'll receive a small tutorial on how to handle it. Press the horseshoe icon button - the = key on most keyboards, as shown in the bottom-right corner of the screen - to mount the Mistmare instantly and effortlessly outside. At any moment you are outdoors, you can summon your mount by pressing the same button; you can also dismount at will. Additionally, you can use your mount to gather items from the ground without having to dismount, though you still cannot enter buildings while mounted.
Fields of Mirasta: How to Change Mount Appearance
In Fields of Mistria, you may buy a skills perk called Nice Ride, which costs 205 Essence at the horse statue, if you are interested in changing the appearance of your mount. The above button shows the animals you can morph your mount into in the animal menu; tap it to morph them. If you've already purchased and have on your farm all the animals you wish to morph into a mount version in Fields of Mistria, and have five hearts in friendship with them, then you can do it from within your farm:
Animals:

- cows
- horses
- sheep

The animal menu also allows the modification of the name of your mount and the button from which it will be summoned.
The most common activities done in Fields of Mistria involve caring for crops, mining, fishing, and chopping trees. These all provide Essence, which is sold by statues of Caldarus and his horse in the Fields of Mistria to buy skill perks.
