There is one thing that no online gamer could deny, and that is how challenging Escape from Tarkov is. Forget about beginners, even veteran players who have spent hundreds of hours in the game struggle from time to time. If you are someone experiencing something along the lines, then there is nothing to be ashamed of. It is no coincidence that Escape from Tarkov is widely accepted as the most challenging game ever created for online play.

While there is no question about the brutal nature of the gameplay, there are still ways you can ruin your playthrough. Something that many players remember pretty vividly. That is why you must go through the following points by experts at Battlelog.co and ensure that you do not make the same mistakes as them.

Bringing too much gear into the round

If there is one thing that survival and online FPS games taught us is that you can never have gear with you, especially when you are in unsafe territory. It does make sense as you would want to maximize your chances of victory. Not in Escape from Tarkov. If you are playing any other game, you would be correct in bringing too much gear, but in Escape from Tarkov, you only invite disaster upon your player.

First, you do not win in Escape from Tarkov; you only survive the raid. And second, if you, by chance, are shot down during the raid, you will more than likely lose every gear you have bought with you, possibly even those insured. So, a simple piece of advice you need to take to your heart is never to bring too much gear into the round.

Do not underestimate SCAVs.

Another mistake many players, especially beginners but also many veterans, often make is underestimating the SCAVs. Sure, PMCs are the biggest threat in a match as they are played by other players and would no doubt know every trick in the book. But do not underestimate SCAVs as well, as they quickly take you out without being any wiser about them.

Sniper SCAVs are some of the very best in the game and can easily take a player out from a long distance. Similarly, even the brawler SCAVs could overwhelm the player if they are not too careful in how they deal with them. So do not underestimate them at all costs.

Taking out other SCAVs when playing as one

When you boot up Escape from Tarkov, you would have an option to choose between the PMC and SCAV. Now, PMC is generally the more challenging option, as you would be fighting against both the SCAVs and other PMCs. But for beginners, playing as SCAVs is beneficial as it will help them become more familiar with the gameplay.

By doing a SCAV run, you can get immunity from other SCAVs and can loot as much you want in the game as long as other human players do not shoot you down. But you can make one huge mistake in your gameplay as a SCAV, killing another SCAV. This would result in other AI Scavs trying to take you out. So, do not do such a stupid thing, especially when you are a beginner and have not even built your loadout.

Spending all your in-game cash on weapons

Unlike other online FPS games where you can have an unlimited cache of ammo available or at least can get them quickly without any issue, getting hands on the ammo in Escape from Tarkov is actually quite tricky. If you are facing horrible luck in the last couple of raids, then you would most likely have to go and purchase them from the marketplace. And let's make one thing clear, they are not cheap.

Now it is understandable that you would be interested in getting the most powerful and destructive gun in your hands that could turn the tide of the game in one second. But what is the point of having such an armory if you do not have sufficient ammo to use them? The equation cannot be simple enough; in Escape of Tarkov, the Ammos are simply a more valuable commodity than the guns they are used with. So, you need to prioritize them before anything else.
