In Elden Ring Nightreign, the cooperative experience is central, encouraging players to team up for expeditions. When utilizing the in-game search feature to find teammates, direct voice communication isn't available. Consequently, players must rely on the game's robust ping system to coordinate and navigate effectively.

How to Use the Ping System in Elden Ring Nightreign

The ping system in Elden Ring Nightreign is designed for seamless team coordination, allowing for constant communication without spoken words.

How To Ping On The Map

You can ping any location on your map at any time, as frequently as you wish, without restrictions. These pings remain active until manually removed during the first two days and nights of an expedition, providing persistent guidance even if the safe zone (Night's Tide circle) begins to encroach.

• You can only have one map ping active at a time. Placing a new ping will automatically replace your previous one.
• Pings are visible both on the map and on the compass for all players in your party.
• Each player is assigned a unique color, and your pings will display in your assigned color. If two players ping the exact same location, the combined ping will turn white, signifying a consensus or agreement among the team.
• A notification will appear in the bottom right of the screen whenever a player places a ping, indicating who pinged and the specific map icon they targeted.
• Pings also manifest as visible beams of light in the game world once you reach the location that was pinged, providing clear visual guidance.

To place a map ping:

Open your map.

Hover over the desired location.

Press the corresponding button for your platform:

• PlayStation: R3
• Xbox: Right joystick
• PC: Press the Mouse Wheel

To remove your active ping, simply hover over it on the map and press the ping button again.

How To Ping Items & Your Character

Beyond map locations, you can also usethe ping system to highlight specific items or your own character'sposition for your party members.

• Similar to map pings, you can only ping one item or your own location at a time. Pinging a new item will un-ping the previously highlighted one.

To ping an item:

You must be standing directly over the item, so the "pick up" prompt appears on your screen.

Once the prompt is visible, press the following button combination:

• PlayStation: Hold Triangle, then press R3
• Xbox: Hold Y, then press the right joystick
• PC: X

To ping your own character's position (useful for drawing attention to yourself or indicating your current stance):

• Use the same commands as above (Hold Triangle + R3 / Hold Y + Right joystick / X) without standing over an item. This will place a ping at your current location, displaying your character's icon for your teammates to see.

By mastering these ping commands, players can effectively communicatestrategies, share loot locations, and coordinate movements, ensuring asmoother and more successful cooperative experience in Elden Ring Nightreign.
