Elden Ring Nightreign introduces dynamic
roguelike elements that ensure every run feels fresh and unpredictable. One of the most impactful gameplay variations comes from
Shifting Earth events, which can dramatically alter large portions of the map, forcing players to adapt their strategies.
If you're looking to
control these events—or simply end them before starting an expedition—you’ll need to find the
hidden bed in the Roundtable Hold. This guide explains
how Shifting Earth events work, where to find the bed, and how to use it effectively.
What Are Shifting Earth Events in Elden Ring Nightreign?
Shifting Earth events are
procedural map changes that activate randomly between runs. These events modify terrain, enemy placements, and loot, ensuring no two expeditions play out the same way.
You’ll unlock your first Shifting Earth event
after completing the initial expedition, with three more becoming available as you progress. The four possible events include:
The Crater – A shattered landscape with hazardous terrain. The Mountaintops – A frigid, high-altitude zone with new enemy types. The Rotted Woods – A decaying forest filled with poison hazards.Noklateo, The Shrouded City – The largest event, unlocked after defeating the final boss.Since these events are
randomly triggered, they can disrupt carefully planned runs. Fortunately, players can
manually end an active Shifting Earth event by interacting with a specific bed in the Roundtable Hold.
Where to Find the Bed to End Shifting Earth Events
The bed
only appears when a Shifting Earth event is active. Here’s how to locate it:
Check the Roundtable Hold – Interact with the Roundtable and look at the right side of the expedition list. If a Shifting Earth event is active, it will be displayed here.Head to the Right Hallway – Move past the character change bell and proceed down the corridor.Pass the Remembrance Journal – Keep going until you reach a back room.Locate the Two Beds – On the right wall, you’ll see two beds. Interact with the farther one to end the event.Using the bed
"passes time", removing the current Shifting Earth modifier. Note that this
doesn’t affect in-game time mechanics—it simply resets the map to its default state.
Can You Activate Shifting Earth Events Manually?
No—Shifting Earth events trigger randomly, and there’s no direct way to force them. However, there is one exception:
- If you select a character whose Remembrance questline requires a specific Shifting Earth event, playing as them will guarantee that event activates.
- Warning: Progressing too far in the questline locks this method permanently, so use it wisely.
Should You End Shifting Earth Events Early?
Since these events are unpredictable, ending one might be necessary if:
✅ Your build isn’t suited for the modified terrain (e.g., poison zones without resistance).
✅ You’re following a specific route that the event disrupts.
✅ You want a more consistent challenge without procedural changes.
However, keeping them active adds replayability, so weigh your options before resetting.
Final Tips for Managing Shifting Earth Events
- Experiment with different builds to handle any event variation.
- Complete Remembrance quests to unlock all four events.
- Use the bed strategically—don’t reset unless necessary.
Elden Ring Nightreign’s Shifting Earth mechanics keep the game exciting, but with this guide, you now have the power to control them when needed.
