By following this guide we will explain everything about How to defeat Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors Origins.

One of the toughest bosses in Dynasty Warriors Origins is Lu Bu. Though he appears as a threat in all the previous Dynasty Warrior games, his appearances in Origins make him more Soulslike boss-like. In that case, this guide to Dynasty Warriors Origins will teach you how to defeat Lu Bu.

How to defeat Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors Origins?

Save Your Health ASAP

If you have taken too much damage before the fight with Lu Bu even started and used all of the resources on the map, you would like to load from a previous checkpoint or even replay the quest from the start because you won't come out unharmed. You will need an abundance of Meat Buns and Musou meter charges for you to take down Lu Bu.

Stock Up on Meat Buns on the Way The meat buns aren't exactly nearby, but there are a couple of key spots near the arena for the Lu Bu boss fight. With your Sacred Bird's Eye, don't hesitate to leave the field in search of some fragile pottery. If you're not careful, Lu Bu can end your run with a single shot if you aren't fast enough to heal.

This fight is even quite easy on Hero difficulty, with your teammates proving quite competent. Liu Bei and his allies won't need very much time to delay Lu Bu, cause him some damage, and beat his first phase.

Craft and Wear Armor to Defend

No matter how many resources and buffs you put into your attacks, it will take quite a while before Lu Bu finally goes down. If you want to survive Lu Bu's devastating one-shots and bursts for longer in an attrition battle, then you should equip more healing items and defensive stats. That's why it's a good thing to stock up on healing goods and equipment for those times when you face Lu Bu solo.

How to Beat Lu Bu Is A Three-Stage Process Later in the quest, after you and the rest of the frontline confront Lu Bu, he will emerge on top. Then, you'll defeat him when he's horseback riding with Liu Bei and brothers. When his health is above 50%, Lu Bu attacks from a horse; this greatly enhances his mobility and speed but also makes him highly predictable. He loses his horse and becomes much more unpredictable once his health falls below 50%. One way to approach this fight is saving your best moves until his last phase.

Vagueness Required

If you wish to deal damage to Lu Bu, you will have to use your Battle Arts because you cannot parry him properly every time. Dodging his attacks perfectly, especially those that cannot be blocked, is important because it speeds up the process of leveling up your Bravery. If you're familiar with the basic attacks of Lu Bu and can break his guard quickly with Battle Arts, then you should be using dodges instead of parrying - it's safer this way.

Keep an Eye Out for His Deadliest Attacks

In his two main phases, Lu Bu uses different sets of attacks. On the first battlefield, he has an Ultimate Musou strike and a horseback charge strike that you should try to dodge. Another hazardous attack of his is the horseback jump; time your dodges correctly so that you don't get caught in the debris when he slams the ground. Then you should try dodging the unstoppable wave of damage he unleashes below 50% health.

Cease Your Musou Attacks and Rage as a War God You must save your War God Rage for the boss fight against Lu Bu. Only when you are in a one-on-one match against Lu Bu should you use your Musou skills or the Extreme Musou Skill. War God Rage lets you deal tons of damage while invincible, allowing you to actually force him into an early ending in his horse phase or easily chip him in his melee phase. Time it immediately following an ambush to maximize the effect. Likewise, you want to abuse invincibility frames off of Musous and attack interruptions.

You will have four companion options during this assignment; you should save your character swap for when you're on your fight with Lu Bu. For this assignment we suggest taking Guan Yu, as he is a very powerful Companion that can deal the most damage for you in this fight. When fighting against Lu Bu, make sure to use him so that you will be able to take out a big chunk of his health.

Spear Is Very Useful

Playing with the Spear and using the Battle Art 'Piercing Vengeance' automatically parries an oncoming attack if you're not acquainted with parries. Be ready to deflect or dodge the oncoming strike because Lu Bu will usually launch another counterattack right after this.

Plan Execution

Here, your tactics really pay off, especially the Charge Tactic, as this will shatter one of Lu Bu's shields and stun him temporarily. Moreover, if you are in high ground, you must try to attempt the Volley Tactic for a Dramatic Success and a critical strike on Lu Bu.

Parry Mastery

Hi, Lu Bu is a bit of a tricky character to parry because he's just constantly red, and it's much harder to get a quick determination between parryable and non-parriable hits. In order to beat him without burning too much time, you'll actually have to study his patterns to easily parry his attacks; most of his attacks are, in fact, parryable, and the non-parryables have longer animations, even with red aura.

Do Not Try to Beat Him

Contrary to what many people may think, one does not have to defeat Lu Bu to complete the task. The man is a force on the battlefield but, as described above, Lui Bei's troops will stall him indefinitely. You now can take care of the other parts of the Zhong Duo army and prepare to attack the Imperial Capital. You have until Lu Bu defeats Lui Bei to complete the task, but defeat him here and you will be given The Strongest.

We conclude this guide on How to defeat Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors Origins, hoping that the information provided here will help you defeat this enemy.
