We invite you to discover How to Chase Change in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, with this excellent and explanatory guide.
Dragon Ball! There's a tutorial within for Zero's Chase Change mechanic, but it doesn't teach you how to do it right. Hopefully, Bandai Namco fixes this problem with this tutorial soon enough. Until then, for those interested, we'll be talking about the best control settings to use with Chase Change in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and how to pull it off correctly, to boot.
Best Chase Modifiers
To make things a bit easier, for a Chase Change to occur in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you will hit three light attacks and hold the R3 and L3 keys at the same time. The R3 key opens up the character select menu, and the L3 key lets you select the character of your choice. We suggest you get used to changing your settings, because the timing and overall feel of this is rather unintuitive.
First, go to the main menu and select options to show controls and camera. Within controls and camera, select show/hide switch panel to R3 instead of L3+R3.
By doing this, with this method, a Chase Change attack can be done by simply clicking R3. You can even set it where the Emote Panel is L3+R3, which would mean the Transformation Panel is set under L3. From here on out, you'll just need to be a master of timing. In a normal situation, holding L3 would access the Transformation menu. If you'd like to leave the default controls as is, we recommend you hold R3 before giving L3 a light tap as you pull the R analog stick in the direction you want it to be, rather than holding down L3 and R3 simultaneously.
How to Chase Change in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
It does take some time to get a grasp on the rather complex timing of the Chase Change. What you need to do here is simplified as much as possible. You will be allowed to switch characters after the first three attacks. While in a neutral position-not while attacking-you can flick the stick in the direction of your desired character. Keep in mind that Chase Change after three hits is a switch rather than a combo-sounds confusing, I know, but it's all about perspective.
Get used to making it a habit to character change regularly, then add a smidgen of delay to your mix-ups for maximum effect. Time your fourth attack to connect during their pushback, provided you hit them with the first three, of course. If you're not in such a rush to make the Chase Change happen, you actually have quite a sizeable window to do so.
We can conclude that knowing How to Chase Change in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is easier than we thought, we just have to apply these instructions to achieve it and improve our fun.
