In this guide post we explain everything you need to know about How To Customize Crosshair in Deadlock.
Deadlock combines the mechanics of MOBA with the mechanics of a third-person shooter, using strategy and personal expertise of each player for its victories. With lane advancement and kills of enemies relying so heavily on coordination in a team, there is underlying involvement of individual skills, especially about accurate aiming.
The crosshair is a basic part of aiming in Deadlock, but it does not have as much customization. For example, with other Valve games, such as Counter-Strike 2, a player can have their crosshair up while making changes to it in real time; here, they cannot. It is incredibly hard to try to perfect exactly how they want their aim to feel. If one is a player who prides themselves on having very specific, detailed aiming, then this could become frustratingly aggravating.
The most noticeable problem with Deadlock, however, is the lack of a genuine real-time crosshair preview. This is seriously a sore point since aiming in this game is critical. While Valve hasn't announced when this feature would be available, they are expected to continually update and fine-tune their game so that more Contributor features may be supported down the line.
Customizing Crosshairs in Deadlock?
A new Deadlock customization option is here! With the help of a very active and enterprising fan, it's now possible to personalize your crosshair using an easy-to-use online tool.
How it works:
- Go to the tool: On the website, choose either a pre-designed crosshair or make your own. You will have an immense set of options ranging from classic to modern and even custom-designed crosshairs.
- Feel free to adjust Width, Height, Opacity and thickness of lines and centre dot until you are comfortable. You can also experiment with a wide range of colors and styles until you're happy with how your game looks.
- Copy code: When you are satisfied with your creation click "Copy Config."
- Apply in-game: Open Deadlock, open console with F7, and paste the copied code into it. Then press Enter to apply. Immediately in-game, the new crosshair will appear.
- Want to revert? Just copy the default crosshair settings from the website and throw the thing into the console to restore it to original settings.
Enjoy your new crosshair! This new option finally opens the way to tailor Deadlock's look to your liking and playing style.
Deadlock's recoil-free guns also guarantee that there will be much more proper crosshair placement as opposed to gun recoil. That is somewhat mitigated by Deadlock's fast-paced gameplay-forcing quick movements when customers are engaging multiple opponents or make sudden turns. That takes a lot of practice and patience in developing those reflexes which will enable the players to aim precisely.
Mouse sensitivity is a very important aspect in terms of being able to track a target and switch between multiple enemies as quickly as possible. You want to find a sensitivity where you can move your mouse comfortably around, but not so sensitive where it makes accurate aiming difficult. Experiment with the settings until you figure out what exactly works best for you and your style of play.
Hero choice can also affect your aiming strategy. Large magazine heroes, such as Wraith and McGinnis, provide the most flexibility for aggressive playstyles and spraying at multiple targets. For example, with Abrams and Pocket, smaller magazines necessitate a much more conservative usage of your ammo. Precise aiming and avoiding missed shots become a critical concern in staying tactical in these situations.
Now that you know How to customize your scope in Deadlock, you can apply this guide and enjoy everything this game has to offer.
