  • Frozen Hearts: Your first encounter likely occurs here. From the Icebound Terminal, proceed across the bridge leading into the arena. The imposing figure of Gargant will be awaiting your approach.
  • The Monolith: To find Gargant in this area, begin your journey at the Tainted Hearts location. Navigate through the archway, cross the subsequent bridge, and keep an eye out for a broken train car on your left. A palpable shadow at the back of this area signals Gargant's presence. Venture into the shadow to initiate the confrontation.
  • Flying Manor: Within the plaza where the bodies of the enigmatic Nevrons are displayed, locate the stairs situated on the back-right side. Descend these stairs, and you will find Gargant lurking below, ready to engage.

The Gargant Boss Fight: A Dance of Elements


As you approach Gargant in any of the aforementioned locations, you'll initially observe it hunched over, resembling a dormant statue. However, the moment you draw near, the battle will commence.
The defining characteristic of this boss fight lies in Gargant's dynamic elemental stances. Throughout the encounter, it will seamlessly switch between Ice and Fire modes. Crucially, Gargant is only vulnerable to damage from the element opposite to its current stance.
  • Ice Stance (Blue Glow): When Gargant emits a blue glow, it is in its Ice stance. In this state, only Fire-based attacks will inflict damage. Attempting to use Ice attacks will not only deal zero damage but can actually heal the boss.
  • Fire Stance (Red Glow): Conversely, when Gargant glows red, it is in its Fire stance. During this phase, only Ice-based attacks will be effective. Using Fire attacks will similarly result in no damage and potential healing for Gargant.

  • Adapting to Fire Stance: When Gargant transitions to its Fire stance, immediately swap to Lune. Her ice-based skills, Ice Lance and Crippling Tsunami, are invaluable. Ice Lance not only deals damage but also slows downGargant, providing crucial breathing room for dodging its powerfulattacks.
  • Understanding Gargant's Movement Pattern: While Gargant might appear slow and cumbersome, it possesses a set ofpotent combos that demand careful observation and precise timing:

    • Smash Combo: Thisattack sequence begins with a noticeable wind-up, culminating in adelayed multi-hit chain. Resist the urge to mash the parry button.Instead, focus on the rhythm of the attacks and time your parriesaccurately.
    • Ice Beam: Gargant willunleash a long, freezing beam. If this attack connects, your characterwill be temporarily frozen, leaving them vulnerable. Sidestepping thisbeam is generally the safest approach, unless you possess impeccableparry timing.
    • Spin Slam Combo: Theboss will execute three consecutive spins before forcefully slamming the ground, inflicting significant area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Maintain asafe distance during the spins and only approach once the slam hasconcluded.
    • Burn Blast: Gargantwill audibly yell and charge before launching a fiery projectile thatexplodes upon impact. The parry window for this attack occurs when theprojectile briefly glows blue mid-air. Avoid parrying prematurely.
  • Supportive Options: Monoco can serve as a valuable support character throughout the fight. Utilize his Sakapatate Fire ability when Gargant is in Ice stance to maintain offensive pressure.
