Although it was planned to be single player, the developers decided to innovate it and allow multiplayer mode so you can play with your friends, but how do you do it? How to play with friends in Torchlight 3?

Setting up your game is just a two-step process that you must complete. To get started, make sure you are friends with that person on the respective platform you are playing on, be it PS4, Xbox One, or PC.

Once you have completed it, fire up the game and select the multiplayer option. If you are choosing multiplayer for the first time, you will have to create a few characters and do more before you can add a friend to your party in the game.


Once you've mastered your game so that you can pause the game, do this to bring up the game menu. This will be done by default in Inventory, which can be done by pressing pause on a controller or me on a keyboard. At this point, you need to press RB / R1 twice to go to the Social tab, or just click the tab on PC.

When you have chosen the Social option, you will have a new menu open where you can navigate between the tabs by pressing RT / R2 or clicking PC. This will make your party the first, but your friends will appear on the next tab. The third tab will display "Nearby", allowing you to invite random players from the downtown area to your party if you wish.
