While it’s the easiest of the Mk2 variants to obtain, the process still involves a challenging mini-boss fight, precise enemy manipulation, and a high-stakes lockdown sequence.This guide covers every step in detail, including alternative methods, strategies, and troubleshooting tips to ensure you successfully craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-W.

Prerequisites: Obtaining the Base Ray Gun Mark 2

Before crafting the Mk2-W, you must first acquire the base Ray Gun Mark 2. There are two primary ways to get it:

1. Mystery Box (RNG-Based)

• Recommended GobbleGum: Wonderbar (increases Wonder Weapon odds).
• Keep spinning the box until you get the Ray Gun Mk2.

2. Armory (Guaranteed, but Requires Puzzle Solving)

• Locate the Armory in the underground area.
• Obtain the Floppy Disk and Severed Arm by solving the Doppelghast code puzzle.
• Once collected, the Ray Gun Mk2 will be available for pickup.

Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting the Ray Gun Mk2-W

Step 1: Acquire an Empty Canister

You need an Empty Canister to begin the upgrade process. There are three methods to obtain it:

Method 1: Shoot Blue Rocks

• Look for blue-glowing rocks scattered around the map (commonly near Shem’s Henge).
• Shoot them until they break, revealing the Empty Canister.

Method 2: Use an LT53 Kazimir Tactical on the Zombie Barrier

• Throw an LT53 Kazimir (black hole grenade) at the zombie barrier near Double Tap.
• This will spawn an Empty Canister.

Method 3: Throw Tomahawks at Pipes in the Mainframe Chamber

• In the Mainframe Chamber, locate rusted pipes on the walls.
• Throw Tomahawks (or other explosives) at them to dislodge the Empty Canister.

Step 2: Place the Empty Canister at Shem’s Henge

• Head to Shem’s Henge (the exterior area near Speed Cola in Shattered Veil).
• Look for a device near the center and interact to place the Empty Canister.
• This will spawn an Abomination (mini-boss). DO NOT KILL IT YET!

Step 3: Charge the Three Small Stones with the Abomination’s Beam

• The Abomination will periodically fire a beam attack.
• Three small stones are scattered around Shem’s Henge—you must position yourself so the beam hits them.
• Strategy:
  • Clear zombies first to avoid distractions.
  • Stay near a stone and bait the Abomination’s beam attack.
  • When the beam connects, the stone will glow blue.
  • Repeat for all three stones.

Step 4: Make the Abomination Charge Near the Stones

• After charging the stones, the Abomination must perform a charge attack (a running slam) near them.
• Strategy:
  • Stand close to a charged stone and let the Abomination charge at you.
  • If successful, the stone will float and glow brighter.
  • Repeat for all three stones.

Note:

• If you accidentally kill the Abomination, progress resets.
• If you leave the area, you can restart the process in the next round.

Step 5: Defend the Energy Siphon (Lockdown Sequence)

Once all three stones are floating:

• A lockdown begins, and an energy siphon appears.
• Vermin enemies will rush toward it, damaging the siphon.
• You have 2 minutes to defend it until it reaches 100%.

Best Strategies:

• Stand directly on the siphon to block Vermin.
• Use AOE weapons (grenades, Wonder Weapons) to clear groups quickly.
• If you fail, retry in the next round.

Step 6: Collect the Explosive Canister

• Once the siphon reaches 100%, interact with the device to receive the Explosive Canister.

Step 7: Craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-W at the Workbench

• Return to the underground Armory (where you got the base Mk2).
• Locate the workbench inside the Supply Depot (left of the Armory).
• Place the Explosive Canister and hold interact to craft the Mk2-W.
• The process takes a few seconds—clear zombies first to avoid interruptions.

Ray Gun Mark 2-W Features & Uses

• Fires like an SMG (faster than the standard Mk2).
• Essential for the Shattered Veil Easter Egg (used against a mini-boss).
• Great for high-round survival due to its rapid-fire capability.

Troubleshooting & Tips

✅ If the Abomination dies early: Progress resets—wait for the next round.
✅ If lockdown fails: Try again with better crowd-control weapons.
✅ Solo players: Save & quit if things go wrong, then resume.
