This stage requires a combination of rapid-fire precision, spatial awareness, and memory to solve a unique symbol sequence puzzle.If you have made it this far, you have already conquered the observatory and decoded the planetary ciphers. The last major hurdle is securing the Ascendant Eye and replicating a sequence on a set of Martian pillars. This guide provides a precise, step-by-step walkthrough to ensure you solve the Mars puzzle efficiently, triggering the final confrontation and claiming your rewards.

Black Ops 7: Mars Pillars Puzzle in Astra Malorum

Phase 1: Securing the Ascendant Eye

The first objective upon reaching the Red Planet is to retrieve a crucial component: a floating sentinel referred to as the Ascendant Eye.

1. Activating the Audio Cue

• Prerequisite: You must already have access to Mars. After arriving, retrieve Dr. Thurston's Brain from the central area and place it within the designated altar located on the upper section of the map.
• The Trigger: Interact with Dr. Thurston's Brain in the altar to initiate a specific audio cue. This sound marks the beginning of the retrieval sequence.

2. The Pylon Sequence

Immediately following the audio cue, you must rapidly shoot four distant pylons in a specific order to attract and manipulate the Ascendant Eye's position.

• Location: Face the east window of the Martian platform. You will see four tall pylons off in the distance.
• The Sequence: Use your weapon to shoot the pylons in the following, fixed order:
  • The furthest right pylon (It will glow blue and attract the Ascendant Eye).
  • The furthest left pylon.
  • The closest right pylon.
  • The closest left pylon.

3. Freezing the Eye

Once the pylons are active, the Ascendant Eye will be flying near the altar. You must now use the environment to temporarily disable the Eye so youcan grab it.

• The Freeze Orb: Turn around and face the west. Shoot the specific pylon orb floating above the altar. This orb will glow blue, forcing the Ascendant Eye to freeze in place.
• The Grab: You must continually reactivate the pylon orb to keep the Eye frozen while waiting for the periodic low-gravity zone to activate. Using the low-gravity jump, leap and grab the Ascendant Eye when it is low enough.
• Placement: Once secured, place the Ascendant Eye into the altar located in the south to unlock the next puzzle phase.

Phase 2: Decoding and Executing the Pillar Sequence

With the Ascendant Eye in place, the path is now open to input the finalboss-summoning code. This involves linking a musical clue from theobservatory back to the physical pillars on Mars.

1. Activating the Pillars

You must first ensure the five key pillars on Mars are ready to receive the code input.

• The Tool: Use the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon to shoot the golden antennas located on the top of five unique pillars scattered around the room.Successfully hitting them will cause their tops to glow blue.
• Pillar Locations:
  • One pillar is located in the south, to the right of the Ascendant Eye altar.
  • One pillar is located when facing west, to the right of Dr. Thurston's Brain.
  • One pillar is located when facing west, to the left of Dr. Thurston's Brain.
  • Two pillars are located when facing north, flanking a broken pillar.
• (Note: If an antenna is missing, sometimes starting a new round can resolvethe issue, but if they are glowing blue, you are ready to proceed.)

2. Finding the Sequence Clue

The order in which you interact with the pillars is determined by a sequence found back in the main observatory.

• Travel Back: Take the portal that returns you to the Machina Astralis in the main Astra Malorum map.
• The Device: Enter the Observatory Core and interact with the device located on the right side of the piano.
• The Sequence: The device will display a sequence of five unique symbols. Critically, one of the symbols will be missing, represented only bysound waves. This blank spot is essential for the sequence.
• Identifying the Blank: To identify which symbol is missing from the sequence, you must locate the pillar symbol on Mars that does not appear among the five symbols shown by the piano device. This missingsymbol occupies the "blank" position in your final input sequence.

3. Solving the Symbols Puzzle

The final step is rapid interaction with the pillars on Mars.

• Visual Translation: The symbols displayed on the piano device have corresponding visualrepresentations on the Mars pillars. You must be able to visuallytranslate the symbols displayed on the piano to the symbols etched intothe pillar faces.
• Execution: Return to Mars and interact with each of the five glowing pillars in the exact sequence shown by the piano, substituting the visually absent symbol for the pillar you identified as "blank." You must interact with them in quick succession; any delay will cause the sequence to reset.
• Success Confirmation: If the sequence is entered correctly, the faces of the pillars will glow blue instead of red.

With the final puzzle solved, you can now approach Dr. Thurston's Brain one final time and interact with him to initiate the terrifying final confrontation with the map's boss, Caltheris.
