The Main Easter Egg quest in Black Ops 7 Zombies: Astra Malorum is a demanding journey through cosmic ruins, and few stages are as crucial—or as potentially confusing—as the Planet Alignment Puzzle in the Machina Astralis observatory. This step is mandatory for opening the path to the next major area of the map, the Martian surface.While the objective—aligning a model solar system—sounds simple, the solution is randomized for every single game session. Success requires meticulous note-taking and careful navigation. Fortunately, the core methodology for finding the specific instructions remains the same.This comprehensive guide will walk you through the necessary prerequisites, reveal the fixed locations of the three unique clues, and explain the precise method for solving the planetary cipher. Master this challenge, and you will secure your passage through the charged portal and onto the Red Planet.

Black Ops 7: Align the Planets in Astra Malorum

Phase 1: Prerequisite Setup and Neptune Acquisition

Before you can begin manipulating the celestial model, you must complete several key progression steps in the Main Easter Egg and retrieve a missing component.

• Initial Steps: You must have advanced far enough in the quest to have acquired the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon and subsequently retrieved and successfully processed Dr. Thurston’s Brain by placing it in the Perfusion Machine within the Machina Astralis.
• The Books Puzzle: Following the Perfusion Machine sequence, the next task involves solving a cryptic books puzzle (details for which are covered in a separate guide).
• Retrieving Neptune: Completing the books puzzle triggers a trap door to open in the ceiling of the Archive of Orbis (near the west wall). Climb the ladder to look inside the opening. Here, you will find an interactable orb that contains the Planet Neptune model.

Activating the Planetarium

With the missing planet secured, return to the Machina Astralis:

• Installation: Upon entering the main room and facing the central Sun model from thesoutheast, you will see an empty slot up the stairs. Interact with thisslot to place the Neptune model, thereby completing the display andofficially activating the planetarium.
• The Goal: The mechanism is now functional, but you must align three specificplanets to their correct compass points to trigger the next event.

Phase 2: Locating the Three Directive Papers

The instructions for the randomized alignment puzzle are written on threedistinct pieces of paper hidden around the facility. While the content of the papers (which planet and which direction) changes per game, their physical location is fixed. You must visit all three spots and record the information from each.

Planet Paper #1	Machina Astralis	Found on the main central floor where the Mystery Box can spawn. Look for asmall desk or console facing south. The paper will be resting there.
Planet Paper #2	Archive of Orbis	Located in the same room as the Stamin-Up perk machine. Find the large central table and look specifically at the back end of the table. The paper will be sitting on the surface.
Planet Paper #3	The Luminarium	Enter the room within The Luminarium that contains the map’s trap mechanism(where Jugger-Nog is located). Look for a coffee table situated near the northwest wall. The final paper will be resting on the table.

Decoding the Clues

Each piece of paper will contain two pieces of crucial information:

• A Target Planet: The planet to be moved (it will be one of Saturn, Neptune, or Mars).
• A Direction: A specific compass direction using initials: North (N), North West(NW), North East (NE), East (E), South (S), South East (SE), South West(SW), and West (W).

Note down all three pairs (e.g., Saturn -> NW, Mars -> E, Neptune -> S).

Phase 3: The Alignment and the Martian Gate

With all three directives recorded, you are ready to manipulate the solar system model and open the gate to the Red Planet.

Solving the Puzzle

• The Compass: Return to the Machina Astralis room and look up at the solar systemmodel. You will see directional markers resembling a compass underneaththe central Sun.
• Execution: For each of the three planets listed on your papers (Saturn, Neptune, and Mars), you must shoot that specific planet until it rotates into alignment with the corresponding direction on the compass.
  • Example: If your paper says "Mars -> E", you shoot the model of Mars until it stops directly over the East (E) marker.
• Confirmation: Once all three planets have been correctly aligned according to your personalized set of clues, the puzzle is solved.

The Lockdown and Teleportation to Mars

Solving the alignment puzzle immediately triggers the final sequence of this stage:

• Initiation: Interact with Dr. Thurston's Brain to start a defense lockdown sequence.
• The Threat: A portal will begin charging in the Machina Astralis room, and the hostile O.S.C.A.R. will be summoned. O.S.C.A.R.’s primary goal is to send seeking UFOs to attack and destroy the charging portal.
• The Defense: Your entire objective is survival while actively protecting the portal. Prioritize shooting the incoming UFOs before they detonate on the portal. Meanwhile, continuously run and weave through the room to avoid O.S.C.A.R.’s attacks and the spawning zombie hordes.
• The Warp: Once the $\text{60-second}$ portal charge is complete, players will be immediately andautomatically teleported through the newly formed wormhole, findingthemselves on the surface of Mars.

Mars now acts as a new hub for training and progression. To leave theMartian surface and return to the Machina Astralis, simply locate thealtar where you first arrived, pick up Dr. Thurston's Brain from thecenter, and place it into the altar. A teleporter will activate,allowing you to move freely between the two locations as needed tocontinue the rest of the Astra Malorum Main Easter Egg.
