After successfully completing the three preliminary rituals across the map—at the Vandorn Farm, Exit 115, and the Zarya Cosmodrome—you are finally ready for the endgame. The ultimate challenge awaits at Blackwater Lake: a high-stakes film reel puzzle that must be executed perfectly to unlock the final boss arena.This step is notorious for its immediate punishment—fail the sequence, and you're treated to a nasty jump scare and forced to restart the process on the next round. Success, however, grants you the ability to summon the final boss, Veytharion.This step-by-step guide details the complex preparations, the fixed locations of the four film reels, and the final sequence required to blow the Hellion Horn and begin the climatic battle.

BO7 Zombies: the Film Reels Puzzle in Ashes of the Damned

Phase 1: Preparing the Projector at Blackwater Lake

Activating the projector sequence requires precise weapon preparation and interaction at specific locations before you can even begin the puzzle.

The Clock Tower Ritual

First, you must complete the final steps of the power sequence that began after the rituals:

• The Turret Shot: Position the vehicle Ol’ Tessie and use the attached DG-2 Turret to fire a charged blast at the Clock Tower in Ashwood.
• The Gauntlet Imbuement: Once the clock is charged, shoot it with the Necrofluid Gauntlet. Reload your weapon immediately to imbue the Gauntlet with a temporary purple energy charge. This charge is vital for the next step.
• The Dock Wisp: With the Gauntlet charged, immediately travel to Blackwater Lake. Locate the Mystery Box spawn and face the Pyramid. A blue wisp will be present near the dock. Interact with this wisp.

Activating the Film Sequence

With the wisp activated and your weapon charged, you can now enter the nearby Cabin:

• The Projector: Head into the theater room inside the Cabin. Use the Necrofluid Gauntlet (while it still holds the purple charge) to shoot the film projector.
• The Clue: The projector will briefly flash four distinct images onto the screen, one after the other. You must memorize the order in which these four images appear, as they represent the specific locations of the film reels you must shoot next.
• The Objective: Your next task is to find the hidden film reel at each of the four locations shown on the screen, and shoot them in the exact sequential order they were displayed.

Phase 2: Location Guide for All Four Film Reels

While the order in which you must shoot the reels is randomized every game,the location of the reel within the depicted landmarks remains fixed.Use the image displayed on the projector screen to identify which reelto look for.

1. The Fishing Hut Reel

• Image Identifier: This location is clearly depicted as the isolated Fishing Hut.
• Reel Position: Head inside the hut and look up. The reel is cleverly hidden in the rafters of the ceiling, specifically towards the west wall.

2. The Front of the Cabin Reel

• Image Identifier: The image shows the recognizable front exterior of the main Cabin.
• Reel Position: Go upstairs inside the Cabin. Locate the gramophone where the power for Blackwater Lake was activated. The reel is found on a shelf adjacent to a lamp on the east wall, just to the left of the gramophone.

3. The Back of the Cabin Reel

• Image Identifier: The image clearly displays the back side of the Cabin.
• Reel Position: This reel requires a bit of platforming. Head to the Ammo Box outside the cabin. Look for the wooden railing and jump over it. The reel is hidden underneath the main stairs when facing the southeast direction.

• 4. The Toolshed Reel

• Image Identifier: The image shows the small, standalone Toolshed, which is an isolated shack located near the Pyramid, to the left of the Cabin.
• Reel Position: Enter the Toolshed. The reel is located on a shelf against the east wall. It is typically found on the third shelf up, nestled between two small wooden boxes.

REMEMBER: Shoot the film reels in the precise order shown on the projectorscreen. If you shoot them out of sequence, the step fails, and you mustwait until the start of the next round to repeat the entire process,starting with the clock tower imbuement.

Phase 3: Summoning the Final Boss

Successfully shooting the four film reels in the correct order is the final puzzle solution before the climatic confrontation.

1. Retrieving the Hellion Horn

• The Wisp: Once the reels are complete, head upstairs to the bedroom in the Cabin where the Speed Cola perk machine is located. A new wisp will appear by the bedside table. Interact with it to make it vanish.
• Klaus's Task: You now need the assistance of your robotic companion, Klaus. Summon him for 2,000 Essence outside on the dock at Blackwater Lake.
• The Locked Box: Command Klaus to interact with the locked box located in the Speed Cola room. Klaus will successfully open it, and then proceed to the dock, holding the Hellion Horn (a death whistle).

2. The Final Pursuit and Teleportation

Interact with Klaus to command him to blow the Hellion Horn. This action initiates the final, timed sequence before the boss fight.

• Phase 1 - Monolith Forest: After the horn sounds, three wisps will immediately appear in the Monolith Forest (the area connecting Blackwater Lake to Janus Towers). You must drive Ol' Tessie and drive through all three wisps in a single run.
• Phase 2 - Collapsed Tower: Once successful, a new set of wisps will spawn between the Collapsed Tower (connecting Janus Towers Plaza to Vandorn Farm). Drive through these three wisps.
• Phase 3 - Grounded Ship: Repeat the process through the Grounded Ship section (connecting Vandorn Farm to Ashwood).
• Phase 4 - Lost Cabins: Finally, complete the pursuit through the Lost Cabins area (connecting Ashwood back to Blackwater Lake).

Successfully driving Ol' Tessie through all three wisps in each of the four areas will instantly teleport you and your squad to the final boss room, initiating the confrontation with Veytharion. Failure at any pointrequires restarting the entire vehicle pursuit on the next round. Master the routes and claim your victory!
