In any fast-paced shooter, knowing your real-time performance stats is crucial. Your Frames Per Second (FPS) and ping directly impact your gameplay experience, and being able to monitor them can help you diagnose issues and ensure you're getting the most out of your hardware and internet connection. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to enable and display your FPS, ping, and other vital network stats directly on your in-game screen in the
Battlefield 6 Open Beta.
Battlefield 6: How to check FPS and ping
Enabling and Checking FPS and Ping
You can access the performance settings from the main menu or at any point during a match by pressing the "Esc" key.
1. Displaying Ping and Network Stats
- While in-game, press Esc to open the menu and click on Options.
- Navigate to the System tab and scroll down to the Network section.
- To see the ping of every player on the scoreboard, including yourself, find the Scoreboard Ping option and set it to On. You can then view the scoreboard by pressing the Tab key on your keyboard.
- For more detailed network information, find the Network Graph option and set it to Modify.
- In the new menu that appears, turn Network Widgets to On and set the Show Network Performance Bar to Always. This will display a bar at the top of your screen with real-time stats like Latency, Packet Loss, and Jitter. You can also set this to On Problems if you only want to see it when your network performance is poor.
2. Displaying FPS and Performance Stats
- From the Options menu, navigate to the Graphics tab.
- Select the Advanced sub-menu.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list to find the Performance Overlay option.
- This option has three levels. We recommend using "Simple," which displays your CPU and GPU FPS and frame time in the top-rightcorner of the screen. This is a clean, unobtrusive display that givesyou the most critical information without cluttering your view.
- The other two levels provide increasingly more detailed information, suchas VRAM usage, core counts, and more, which may be more useful foradvanced troubleshooting.
Understanding the FPS Display
The FPS display may appear as two numbers separated by a slash, for example, "120 / 8.3".
- The number on the left of the slash indicates your FPS (Frames Per Second). This is the number of frames your PC is rendering per second.
- The number on the right of the slash indicates your frame time in milliseconds. This shows how long it takes to render a single frame. A lower number here is better, as it indicates a smoother, moreresponsive experience.
Now you have all the tools you need to monitor your in-game performance and ensure your Battlefield 6 Open Beta experience is as smooth as possible.
