This guide details the locations of all seven pieces of the Totem of Defiance, found within the Emerald Stair region. You can collect these pieces in any order once you reach Emerald Stair. After gathering all seven, assemble them at any Party Camp on the designated rock near the fire to activate the Totem's bonuses.

Avowed: How to Find Totem Of Defiance Pieces

Assembling the Totem of Defiance:

The Totem of Defiance consists of seven pieces hidden throughout Emerald Stair. Once you have them all, head to any Party Camp. Look for a specific rock formation near the campfire. This is the assembly point for the Totem, restoring its power and granting you its benefits.

Piece Locations:

Idol of Violent Rebellion:

• Location: Ranger Headquarters (Eastern Emerald Stair, northeast of Fior Southern Gate Beacon).
• Details: This piece is atop the Ranger's tower. Find the side of the tower with a visible ladder (near a stack of barrels). Climb the ladder andprepare for some platforming. The Idol is at the very top of the tower.

Sacrificial Dagger:

• Location: Abandoned Farms (North of Fior mes Ivèrno).
• Details: Behind the second building from the right, you'll find a note pinned to the wall. The Sacrificial Dagger is holding the note in place.

Idol of Covert Plots:

• Location: Grim Wetlands (Northwestern Emerald Stair).
• Details: Fast travel to the Plateau Junction Beacon and head north. Look for anabandoned house. Approach from the hilltop above it. There's an opening in the roof. Drop down inside to find the Idol at an altar.

Totem Base:

• Location: Shrine to Skaen (Western Emerald Stair).
• Details: Fast travel to the Plateau Junction Beacon and walk southwest. You'llencounter a craggy hillside with climbable ledges. Ascend the hillside;the Totem Base sits on its own altar at the top.

Obsidian Prayer Beads:

• Location: The Delemgan Glade (Western Emerald Stair).
• Details: Cross the half-tree, half-man-made bridge. Follow the path to acircular arena. On the right, an incline leads to the far end of thearea, where a large tree grows through the structure and rocks. Climbthe horizontal tree and take the rocky path to find the Prayer Beads.

Idol of Secret Hatred:

• Location: Ancient Grotto (Southwestern Emerald Stair).
• Details: This cave is a separate area. Enter and follow the path to a largerroom with multiple pathways. Take the stairs down and jump across thepoisonous water (use the available objects and trees to avoid thedamage). You'll reach a larger room with many paths. Take the hole inthe wall next to the green light on the left. The Idol is at the end ofthe path next to a skeleton.

Effigy Necklace:

• Location: Naku Tedek (Naku Tedek Grounds island, southwestern Emerald Stair – accessible by bridge from the Ancient Grotto).
• Details: The cave entrance is in the middle of the island, near the merchants.You won't be able to proceed far until the "Ancient Soil" main quest.During this quest, a character opens a secret passage by the large Adra. Go down the spiral staircase and take the left path where the lockeddoor is. Use an electric spell or grenade on the nearby box to open thedoor. In the next room, a horizontal tree spans a pool of water. Usefrost magic or a frost grenade to create a walkable path over the water, then climb the tree. The Necklace is on the platform above.
