How to find the Cartographer in Dawnshore in Avowed
In Avowed's Dawnshore, you'll encounter Sanza, a cartographer seeking his missing assistant, Geirmund. Geirmund was tasked with mapping the uncharted Living Lands, a dangerous region where disappearances are common. This guide details how to complete the "Mapping the Living Lands: Dawnshore" quest and find the unfortunate cartographer.

Starting the Quest: Talking to Sanza
You can pick up this quest by speaking with Sanza. He's located north of Claviger's Landing. Sanza will explain that Geirmund ventured east, across Paradis, to explore the Living Lands. However, this area is initially inaccessible. It's best to prioritize the main quest (finding the missing Aedyran ambassador) until you gain access to Paradis.Locating Geirmund: Usher's Hand
Once you've rescued the ambassador and unlocked access to Paradis, you can begin the search for Geirmund. Head north of Ondra's Reach, then travel to Usher's Hand in the Southern Embrace region, east of Paradis. This area, while not far from the city walls, is perilous.Preparation is Key: Before venturing into Usher's Hand, ensure you have appropriate equipment. A tier two weapon (ideally "Fine" quality) is recommended, as the enemies here are quite strong. If you lack such a weapon, consider upgrading your current equipment at your camp. Without a decent weapon, you'll likely face numerous deaths and trips to The Beyond.The Ruins of Usher's Hand: A Deadly Discovery
Upon arriving at Usher's Hand, you'llencounter several ruins occupied by skeleton enemies. Some are tierone, while others, like an archer and a monk, are tier two. Prioritizeeliminating the tier two archer early in the fight, as they pose asignificant threat. Use your "Fine" quality weapon to make quick workof these enemies, or be prepared for a difficult battle.
After defeating the skeletons, proceed north within the ruins. You'll findGeirmund's body—he didn't survive his expedition. However, you will find his map nearby. Retrieve it to complete the next step of the quest.
Returning to Sanza: The High Market
Sanza's shop is located in the High Market district of Paradis, in the northern part of the city. This is a more affluent area with higher-end shopsoffering better equipment and items. You can only access the HighMarket after rescuing the ambassador and gaining access to the rest ofParadis.
Once you've gained access,find Sanza's map shop, which is located to the right of the High Marketentrance. Speak with Sanza and inform him of Geirmund's fate. Whilesaddened by the news, he'll be grateful for the map, completing the"Mapping the Living Lands: Dawnshore" quest.
