I. Initial Infiltration: Gaining Entry and Gathering Clues

The mission begins by locating the fort and finding an initial, non-lethal entry point.

• Locate the Fort: Follow the quest marker until you are within the vicinity of the Roman Fort.
• Call Enkidu: Use Basim's reliable eagle companion, Enkidu, to scout the area. The marker will guide you to a key clue location.
• The Whistle Spot: The clue is located atop a rocky outcrop adjacent to the fort. Interact with the mark here to trigger a whistle action.
• Covert Entry: A guard on the ramparts will push down a ladder in response to the whistle. Use this opportunity to climb up the ladder and enter the fort unseen.

Once inside the ramparts, your primary objective will appear: Assassinate Nimlot.

II. Securing the Path: Eavesdropping and Opportunity

Before moving deeper, it is vital to clear the immediate area and decide on your method of deeper infiltration.

• Clear and Scout: Take out any nearby patrolling guards silently. Then, use Enkidu again to scout the interior, marking all enemy positions and opportunities.
• Eavesdrop: Drop down onto the stack of hay located near a group of gossiping robbers. Eavesdrop on their conversation to learn about a weak point in the rocks near the fort's main structure.
• Choosing Your Path: You now have three general paths forward (the rock weakness, themerchant, or direct stealth). The most straightforward and recommendedpath is via the merchant.

The Merchant Disguise (Recommended)

• Locate the Merchant: A merchant, marked by a magnifying glass icon, is located next to the gossiping robbers. Approach him while ensuring you remain undetected.
• The Bribe: The merchant will offer Basim safe passage further into the fort in exchange for 12 tokens. Hand over the tokens.
• Covert Passage: The merchant will hand Basim a crate to carry, making him appear inconspicuous as a helper. Follow themerchant through the heavy wooden gate, gaining access to the heavilyguarded inner areas without engaging in combat or stealth checks.

III. The Astrologer Disguise and Restricted Area

The next step involves acquiring a full disguise to move freely within the fort's most dangerous area.

Inner Scout: Put down the crate where prompted and immediately use Enkidu to scout this new area. Mark the numerous guards and locate the Restricted Area by scanning the marker.

Find the Invitation: Near where you dropped the crate, look for a makeshift tent-like area hiding a table. Read the letter here to learn about the Astrologer Invitation.

Locate the Astrologer: Use Enkidu once more to scan the surroundings and mark the Astrologer's location.

Acquire the Disguise:

• The Astrologer is accompanied by a guard. You must find a way to isolate him from his escort.
• Knock out the Astrologer and carry his body to a secluded hiding spot, such as a stall.
• Enter the hiding spot yourself to prompt Basim to change into the Astrologer's attire. This disguise allows you to walk into the Restricted Area unbothered.

IV. Locating Nimlot and Eliminating the Captain

Now disguised, you can infiltrate the Restricted Area to find the prisoner and the target's location.

• Infiltrate: Head to the Restricted Area and convince the guard at the entrance to let you through.
• Find Is'haq's Clues: Once inside, follow the marker to find a guard tormenting an old civilian prisoner. Assassinate the guard and interrogate the old man.
• Nimlot's Location: You will learn that Nimlot has locked himself inside a tower and that the Captain holds the key.
• Find the Captain: Use Enkidu to mark the key-holder’s location.
• Rampart Approach (Safer): The easiest way to reach the Captain is by climbing the wall next to the prisoner and making your way onto the fort's ramparts. Move slowly, taking out patrolling guards one by one.
• Eliminate the Guards: The Captain's room is adjacent to a room containing 4–5 guards. Use throwing knives for a quick succession of ranged kills to neutralize this group silently.
• Assassinate the Captain: The Captain is often accompanied by one guard crouched near thedoorway. Take out this guard first while the Captain is turned away.Then, swiftly move to assassinate the Captain and retrieve the key.

V. The Final Confrontation and Escape

With the key secured, the path to the assassination is clear.

• Ascend the Tower: Head up the stairway and unlock the tower door.
• Assassination: A cutscene will trigger, during which Nimlot reveals he was expectingBasim. At the end of the scene, you will receive the prompt to assassinate Nimlot.
• Rescue Is'haq: Once Nimlot is eliminated, save Is'haq.
• Epilogue: A final cutscene shows Basim conversing with Is'haq. Follow theprisoner as he walks out of the valley and listen to his dialogue.

This action successfully concludes the 'In the Vulture's Nest' mission, wrapping up the entire Valley of Memories DLC questline for Assassin's Creed Mirage.
