How to Tame an Oasisaur in ARK Survival Ascended

Preparation:


  • Environmental Hazards: Scorched Earth is unforgiving. Ensure you have ample supplies of water, cooked meat for sustenance, and some form of heat mitigation. This could include fria curry for a temporary buff or exceptional armor with high insulation.
  • Aerial Advantage: A flying mount, such as a Pteranodon, significantly simplifies locating and reaching Oasisaurs in the vast desert landscape.

Locating an Oasisaur:


These creatures primarily reside within the Dunes biome, a large desert region in the map's southeastern quadrant. While their spawn points can vary, coordinates around 85.4 latitude and 25.6 longitude serve as a good starting point in your search.

Taming Process:


  • 1. Death Essence Acquisition: You'll need a Death Essence, obtained by killing any creature. This can be done directly or by luring predators to attack and eliminate your target.
  • 2. Mounting the Oasisaur: Utilize your flying mount to land on top of the Oasisaur. 
  • 3. Essence Administration: Access the Oasisaur's inventory and deposit the Death Essence within it.

Defense Phase:


Upon placing the Death Essence, the taming process commences. Be prepared to defend a regenerating creature against relentless waves of enemies, primarily vultures and even deathworms.

Defensive Measures:
  • A powerful weapon like a shotgun is ideal for dispatching these threats efficiently. 
  • Consider crafting stone structures for cover during the defense phase. 
  • High-quality armor and ample ammunition are crucial for your survival.

Taming Completion:


The taming duration can vary depending on your server's settings. After successfully defending the regenerating creature, you'll be prompted to name your newly tamed Oasisaur.

Additional Considerations:


  • You can only tame one Oasisaur at a time.
